For regional and rural locum placements across Australia, travel and accommodation are typically included on top of your daily rate. That means flights, ground transport and a furnished place to stay are arranged and paid for. It’s one of the biggest practical differences between a locum package and a permanent salary, and it’s worth factoring in when you’re doing the maths. Metro shifts generally don’t include travel given shorter distances, but they’re still a straightforward way to get started if you’re new to locuming.
